"In order to be a public servant, you have to have passion," he said.
So what is he going to do with all his passion for the city after May 16?
"I'll use an outlet according to what I want to do in my personal life," he said, "and I become a private citizen."
Daley says won't take a public role. He says there will only be one mayor – Rahm Emanuel.
"He will be the mayor," Daley said. "I'm not his adviser. I'm not looking over the city. I'm not commenting. I'm not commenting at all."
But the mayor does suggest he might do some foundation work, possibly in education.
