D.J. Williams Returns To Practice Field; Earl Bennett Works Out
By Adam Hoge-
HALAS HALL (CBS) The Bears got some good news Tuesday when linebacker D.J. Williams returned to the practice field for at least the limited portion open to the media.
Head coach Marc Trestman wasn't willing to categorize Williams' participation as "practice", but did say "he's getting more work."
Meanwhile, wide receiver Earl Bennett, who has been recovering from a concussion sustained Aug. 3, was also seen on the practice fields at Halas Hall doing some stretching and light running. It was the same kind of activity defensive tackle Henry Melton, who is also recovering from a concussion, was able to do Monday.
"Earl got some work on the side," Trestman said. "Henry got more running in. So that's encouraging as we proceed through the season. I'm excited about that."
Those who were not practicing when it was open to the media during individual drills include: offensive tackle Jonathan Scott, defensive tackle Corvey Irvin, cornerback Zackary Bowman and fullback Harvey Unga.
Trestman said Scott was able to run "a little bit" Monday.
