Cyclist Seriously Injured After Collision
CHICAGO (STMW) - A bicyclist was seriously injured after striking a car door, then falling into the path of a CTA bus Friday afternoon in the North Side Lincoln Park neighborhood.
About 3:20 p.m., a bicyclist ran into an open car door, fell and was struck by a No. 36 Broadway bus that was northbound at Clark and Arlington, CTA spokeswoman Kim Myles said.
The cyclist was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in serious to critical condition, Fire Media Affairs Chief Joe Roccasalva said.
The bus was briefly stopped as police conducted an investigation, although the incident did not cause any re-routes, Myles said.
