Cutler: 'I Expect To Play The Whole Game'
There has been some debate as to whether or not the Bears' starters will play in Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers, and also if they should play.
With the two-seed in the NFC Playoffs locked up, the Bears only have an outside shot on clinching the top-seed.
There are basically two schools of thought when it comes to whether or not the starters should play. Some feel that the risk of injury is too great compared to the benefit of a victory. Those on the other side feel that the best way to prepare for the playoffs is to continue to play at a high level.
"We're playing really good football right now," Jay Cutler said. "So we want to continue that. We're going to go out there and hopefully we can keep playing at the level we're playing."
Consistency is extremely important to Lovie Smith, so it can't come as too much of a surprise that he wants to keep preparation and practice unchanged, heading into the playoffs.
"Lovie said prior to [the Eagles-Vikings] game that we were going to be playing, that we were going to be going," Cutler said. "And we're going to be full go on Sunday, so that's what we expect."
Sunday will provide the Bears another opportunity to stay sharp and focused on winning football games. With the Packers needing a win to guarantee they make the playoffs, this rivalry might get dialed up a notch on Sunday.
"I expect to play the whole game," Cutler said. "That's how we're preparing at this point."
