Cutler Finally Makes Playoffs

(WSCR) - Jay Cutler hasn't been on a winning team since high school, but has just led the Bears to clinch the NFC North title after the victory over the Vikings. This is the first time the Bears made the playoffs since 2006.

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) Finally, a playoff berth for Jay Cutler. And that's one big relief for Chicago's quarterback.

The Bears are in after pounding Minnesota 40-14 to clinch their third NFC North title in six years, meaning Cutler will get his first taste of the postseason and maybe start to wipe out that underachiever reputation.

He says it's "good to get rid of that."

Not since he was a high school senior in Indiana hauling in the winning touchdown in the state championship had he led a winning team, yet look at him now.

Pounded early in the season, Cutler is standing tall and so are the Bears (10-4).

They're back in the playoffs for the first time since the 2006 team's Super Bowl run, thanks to a 6-1 season-saving surge that has them eyeing a first-round playoff bye with a slim shot at the top seed in the NFC.
