Customs Seizes Shipment Of Syringes From Chicago International Mail Facility
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Federal agents seized a strange shipment of already filled syringes at a Chicago international mail facility.
United States Customs and Border Protection officers say the syringes were full of sodium hyaluronate from South Korea.
The drug can be used to treat some forms of arthritis, but it's illegal to ship it from overseas without approval.
Customs agents say illegal medications are among the most common items seized.
