Cubs Win Press Conference
(WSCR) They may not have one a game yet, but the Cubs won the press conference.
Sports marketing consultant John Lasage joined the Boers and Bernstein Show to discuss how the Cubs handled Theo Epstein's introductory press conference.
"I think they knocked it out of the park," Lasage said. "If the goal was to win the press conference, they really did an outstanding job. I thought that Tom Ricketts was probably as good as I've ever seen him. He was decisive. There wasn't any of that stammering that we sometimes see with Tom. I think he was right on target with what he said. I thought that Theo Epstein gave us something we haven't seen in Chicago in a long time. I was trying to think of the last time we had a coach or a manager or a general manager who could put together five or six grammatically coherent sentences. He was just great."
