Cubs Rest Ramirez, Theriot
A new lineup for the Cubs Wednesday as Lou Piniella looks to get some rest for Ryan Theriot and Aramis Ramirez. While Lou didn't speak to the media before the game (nothing major, just time off on a day game after night game) we found out Theriot is nursing a slightly sore hamstring. If it were 10 degrees warmer or even a month later, he'd be in the lineup but, by resting him today, he gets two days off.
Here's the lineup:
Kosuke Fukudome -- RF
Starlin Castro -- SS
Marlon Byrd -- CF
Derrek Lee -- 1B
Geovany Soto -- C
Alfonso Soriano -- RF
Mike Fontenot -- 2B
Jeff Baker -- 3B
Carlos Silva -- P
Interesting that Castro is up in the two spot today. Lou was pleased with Starlin's at-bats Tuesday night so, with the regular two-hole hitter out, it looks like he's decided to give the kid a shot to hit at the top--a spot he likely projects to hit in as his career progresses. Jeff Baker gets a chance to get in the lineup for the first time since May 8th.
