Cubs LED Scoreboard Still A Problem For Opposing Teams
(CBS) The Milwaukee Brewers were the first team to complain about the brand new LED scoreboard in right field at Wrigley Field and they aren't the only team.
According to the Chicago Tribune, the Cardinals and Braves have also complained to Major League Baseball about the scoreboard, saying the lights make it difficult for bullpen catchers to see the ball when pitchers are warming up in the opposing bullpen down the right field line.
The report says Joe Garagiola Jr., MLB's senior vice president of standards and on-field operations, met with two Cubs officials in the visitor's bullpen earlier this week to discuss the problem.
An easy solution would be to turn the scoreboard off when opposing teams are warming up in the bullpen, but that would result in the loss of valuable advertising dollars.
The Cubs' next home game is May 16 against Philadelphia. Stay tuned.
