Cubs Game Postponed, Doubleheader On Wednesday
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Tuesday's game between the Chicago Cubs and the San Diego Padres has been postponed due to the forecast for heavy rain and wind chills in the 20s throughout the evening. The game will be made up during a doubleheader on Wednesday.
Tuesday's game will be moved to the second half of the day-night, separate admission doubleheader, and is set to begin at 6:05 p.m. Wednesday's regularly scheduled game will be played at 1:20 p.m.
"The decision to postpone tonight's game was made in consultation with the club's weather service," the organization said in a statement. "The Cubs feel it is better to err on the side of caution, respect the dire forecast and postpone tonight's game at this early hour before the gates open even if the current weather forecast changes its course."
This is the Padres' only trip to Wrigley Field this season, and the two teams don't have a favorable mutual off day later in the season.
The Cubs beat the Padres on a 10th inning walk-off double by Tyler Colvin on Monday night.
