Cubs Fans Prove There Is Crying In Baseball
CHICAGO (CBS) – No other team in baseball has waited so many years for a World Series win.
Maybe that is the reason why emotions are crazy high.
CBS 2's Roseanne Tellez asks fans in Wrigley, 'what is with all the tears?'
No matter what they say in the movies, this historic World Series has moved many to tears.
The saying, "there's no crying in baseball," from the movie, 'A League of Their Own' has not been the case for many Cubs fans.
"My father would take us to Cubs games and my grandmother and that's what it's all going to be," said Tom Kilroy. "That lineage of Cub following."
Fans hold Cubs memories at their fingertips, photos with family members who are no longer here to see history be made.
Fans said a World Series win would cause a flood.
"Absolutely go crazy," Kilroy said. "I'll probably be in a puddle of tears."
Kilroy's wife, Kathy said she has packed Kleenex to prepare her and her husband for the game.
Psycho-analysts call it "crying at the happy ending," the result of happiness, most likely mixed with pain.
In this case, the pain is from the long hard wait for the Cubs to get here.
