Cubs Fans Can Get Excited About Hoyer, McLeod
(WSCR) With news breaking that Jed Hoyer and Jason McLeod of the Padres are coming to Chicago, one Padres insider said Cubs fans have reasons to get excited.
Andy Masur, broadcaster for the Padres, joined The McNeil and Spiegel Show to break down the move that brought Hoyer over as the Cubs' executive vice president and general manager and McLeod as the senior vice president of scouting and player development.
"I think one thing Cubs fans can get excited about with (Hoyer and McLeod) coming in together is that Jed and Jason really, really expanded the baseball operations department for the Padres," Masur said. "They expanded the scouting department and baseball operations, and they really went for it in the draft and spend upwards of $11 million in draft choices."
