Cubs Claim RHP Eduardo Sanchez Off Waivers
(CBS) The Cubs have claimed right-handed pitcher Eduardo Sanchez off waivers from the Cardinals.
The 24-year-old Sanchez will be assigned to Triple-A Iowa. In nine relief appearances this season for Triple-A Memphis, Sanchez has recorded one save and a 3.72 ERA.
Sanchez has spent part of the last two seasons in the majors with the Cardinals, combining to go 3-2 with five saves and a 3.40 ERA in 43 relief appearances.
He has 48 strikeouts in 45 Major-League innings.
