Cubs' Cashner Feels Tightness In Shoudler, Will Have MRI
CHICAGO (CBS) Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Andrew Cashner looked solid in his first career start earlier this season. However, he was lifted from start early with a shoulder issue and was subsequently placed on the disabled list.
On Monday, during his rehab for a strained rotator cuff, Cashner experienced tightness in his shoulder, according to Carrie Muskat, of MLB.com. Cashner will have an MRI taken of his right shoulder.
Cashner gave up two hits and one earned run, while striking out two and walking one in 5.1 inning pitched in his only start this season.
He was rehabbing his shoulder in Arizona at the time if this most recent development. Accoridng to Muskat, he pitched two simulated innings on Thursday.
