Jamie Lee Adams is a sophomore at Roosevelt High and was among dozens of students, teachers and others outside Chicago Public Schools headquarters at 125 S. Clark on Tuesday night.
"Our neighborhood schools already lost millions of dollars last year due to budget cuts because CPS doesn't have enough money," said Adams.
Of the district's 658 schools, 130 are charters and plans are laid out for 60 new charters to open up over the next several years.
