CTA Red Line Service Disrupted After Attack On Train
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Service on the CTA Red Line was shut down during the afternoon rush between the Roosevelt and Sox-35th stops after a man was stabbed on a train.
Police said at 4:28 p.m., a 47-year-old man was on a train near the Cermak-Chinatown station when someone came up and stabbed him in the face with a sharp object.
The victim was taken to Stroger Hospital of Cook County in good condition, police said.
The Chicago Transit Authority said while the investigation was under way, trains only ran between 95th and Sox-35th and between Roosevelt and Howard. Trains were back to normal service and were back to stopping at Cermak-Chinatown by Tuesday evening.
