CTA Pilot Program To Extend No. 11 Bus On Lincoln Avenue
CHICAGO (STMW) -- The CTA will start a six-month pilot program Monday to extend service on the No. 11 bus between the Western and Fullerton train stations on the North Side.
Beginning at 10 a.m., No. 11 buses will run along Lincoln Avenue between the Western Brown Line and Fullerton Red/Purple/Brown line stations, according to the CTA.
The extension will last six months on weekdays between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m., the transit agency said. The regular route between the Western Brown Line station and Howard Street will not be affected.
The pilot will help determine demand for additional service on Lincoln Avenue. The CTA will collect data and feedback from riders and the surrounding community and will determine whether to make the extension permanent at the end of six month.
The extension adds 40 bus stops to the No. 11 route. The schedule is meant to compliment adjacent Brown Line service and other bus routes in the area.
