CTA Breaks Ground On New 95th Street Red Line, Bus Terminal
CHICAGO (CBS) -- CTA and elected officials have officially broken ground on the sprawling new 95th street terminal planned for the Red line, reports WBBM Political Editor Craig Dellimore.
At the always crowded CTA station, CTA President Forrest Claypool said it has been just 11 months since the Red Line tracks were rebuilt on the South Side.

"Last year, we built you a brand new railroad. Now we are ready to bring you a brand new 95th Street bus and rail terminal," Claypool said.
Alderman Tony Beale says the $240 million station reconstruction is just one more step on the way to the future.
"Once this station is modernized, it will be in perfect sync to start the Red Line extension to 130th Street," Beale said.
Democratic Congressman Bobby Rush says he is pushing for the minority jobs and contracts to exceed the city's goals. 700 construction jobs are expected.
According to the city, the station will remain open during construction, which is expected to continue into 2017.
