Volunteers Hand Out Flyers Hoping For Information On Murder Of Aaren O'Connor
CHICAGO (CBS) -Friends of the 25-year-old woman who was shot in the head a week ago while sitting in her car talking to her father on the phone outside her apartment are out passing out flyers today, hoping someone will help solve the crime, reports WBBM's Mike Krauser.
Aaren O'Connor's boyfriend Carlos Sorta was holding back tears as he stood with her friends, police and Cook County Crime Stoppers at 21st and Damen, the scene of the crime.
O'Connor moved to Chicago from California about two years ago to be with Sorta.

Police say Friday night, Feb. 5, O'Connor was parked in her car off of west 21st Street near Hoyne Avenue. It's believed a stray bullet hit her in the head while she was on the phone with her family. She became incoherent and the call disconnected.
"Our detectives have been working around the clock on this very tirelessly," Roy said. "This is a case that really resonates with them. We have a number of promising leads."
Cook County Crime Stoppers are handing out 2,000 flyers urging people who might not talk to police to finally come forward about the shooting death They're promising to keep information anonymous and there's a cash reward of up to $1,000 involved.
"We don't know why people won't tell the police things, maybe because they are afraid of retaliation, maybe because they were just raised that way and they say don't talk to police but what we bring to the table that anonymity," said Crime Stoppers Chairman George McDade. "I don't to know who you are. I don't want your phone number I'm not tape recording it. You give me the information that helps solve the case to the tip and we give you a code number and then we take that information and pass it on to detectives."
But he says they need help. Crime Stoppers will take tips anonymously at 1-800-535-STOP.
