OAK PARK, Ill. (STMW) -- One home was destroyed and two other damaged in an early Sunday morning fire in west suburban Oak Park, Pioneer Press is reporting.
No one was injured in the 4 a.m. house fires, Oak Park Fire Department Battalion Chief Ron Kobyleski said.
The exra-alarm fire drew crews from 12 neighboring communities, with 30 firefighters battling the blaze in all.
Neighbors said the home that was destroyed in the 800 block of Clinton had recently been renovated, and was occupied for the first time in two decades.
No one was injured in the blaze, which was called in to Oak Park firefighters at 4:17 a.m., Battalion Chief Ron Kobyleski said. The fire was level three-box alarm that brought in crews from 12 communities, and 30 firefighters in all.
The fire also damaged homes on either side of it, officials said. Neither of the homes can be lived in temporarily, Kobyleski said.
Kobyleski said he expected crews to still be on the scene into Sunday afternoon. The cause of the fire was still under investigation, he said.
