Crest Hill Man Dead After I-80 Crash
TINLEY PARK, Ill. (STMW) -- A driver died Wednesday afternoon after the SUV he was driving crashed into a dump truck on Interstate 80 in Tinley Park Wednesday afternoon.
A Ford SUV rear-ended a dump truck near 183rd Street, just east of the Harlem Avenue exit in Tinley Park, an Illinois State Police District Chicago trooper said.
The SUV's driver was identified as Cory Malloy, 36, of the 1900 block of Marlboro Lane in Crest Hill, according to an official from the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. He was pronounced dead at Advocate South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest at 1:56 p.m.
A section of I-80 in the south suburbs was closed to traffic Wednesday afternoon, with traffic getting by only on the shoulder in eastbound lanes just east of Harlem Avenue, a District Chicago trooper said. However, all lanes have been reopened and are moving normally as of 7:30 p.m.
