Crash Knocks Down Stoplight Pole, Shuts Down Eastbound Fullerton Avenue
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Eastbound Fullerton Avenue was blocked early Monday at the Kennedy Expressway, after a crash took down a traffic light pole.
As CBS 2's Kris Habermehl reports, the traffic light never stopped working, even as it sagged 45 degrees of its axis down into the street.
Details of the overnight crash were not immediately available, but the crash initially shut down all of eastbound Fullerton Avenue.
The blockage interfered with a major route that carries commuters between the Kennedy and the Lincoln Park neighborhood.
By 6:30 a.m., only the right lane of eastbound Fullerton was blocked.
