Coyotes Howl In Budlong Woods Neighborhood
CHICAGO (WBBM/CBS) -- Urban coyotes are on the prowl on now in the North Side's Budlong Woods neighborhood.
As WBBM Newsradio 780's Mike Krauser reports, coyotes have been spotted all over the city, from State Street in the heart of the Loop, to the industrial and manufacturing district of Goose Island.

But now, residents are seeing more coyotes in Budlong Woods and hearing their plaintive wails. The area includes some green space where the Chicago River's North Branch meets the North Shore Channel.
Residents tell the Chicago Tribune the coyotes respond to the sirens of ambulances approaching Swedish Covenant Hospital at Foster and California avenues, with a howling chorus.
While some area residents are concerned about pets and kids being attacked, others take it in stride. There are no documented attacks on people, but coyotes have, and do, go after small pets.
The city doesn't trap coyotes. Officials want us to learn to live with them.
Experts estimate there could be 2,000 coyotes within the city limits.
