Coyote Decoys Deter Geese In DuPage County
WHEATON, Ill. (WBBM) -- DuPage County is gaining the upper hand in the battle to control the population of Canada geese with some clever decoys.
As WBBM Newsradio 780's Julie Mann reports, the rubber, lifelike cutouts of coyotes with furry tails that move with the breeze, giving them a realistic look, have been successful in discouraging geese from grazing and defecating in areas of the DuPage County Forest Preserve District used by the public.

According to the Daily Herald, the county has about a dozen coyote decoys, which they move from time to time to keep the geese guessing.
The Forest Preserve does admit the fake coyotes at first glance at first do look fairly realistic, and have tricked the occasional human, and real coyotes that have been seen relaxing near the decoys.
