Coyote Believed Responsible For Puppy's Death In Riverside
RIVERSIDE, Ill. (STMW) -- An apparent coyote attack last week killed a small puppy in west suburban Riverside.
The coyote attacked a 9-pound Bichon-Poo puppy about 3 p.m. Dec. 29 in its backyard in west suburban Riverside. The owner heard her 70-pound dog howling in the yard then found the puppy with wounds to the abdomen area, according to Riverside police.
The owner rushed the puppy to a veterinarian, but the dog died Tuesday, police said. The veterinarian said the injuries were consistent with a coyote attack despite the owner saying no coyote was seen in the area.
