Vaughn is charged in the June 14, 2007, murders of his wife Kimberly, and their three children – Abigayle, 12; Cassandra, 11; and Blake, 8. Early that morning, state police found the four bodies inside the family's SUV while it was parked on an Interstate 55 frontage road in Channahon Township.
Over the past few weeks, a crime lab has been conducting tests on the jacket Vaughn wore the day his family was killed.
He insists his wife shot the children, then killed herself.
Meanwhile in DeKalb County, William "Billy" Curl, 34, is expected to enter a not guilty plea when he is arraigned for the murder of Northern Illinois University student Antinette "Toni" Keller.
Keller, an art student from Plainfield, vanished on Oct. 14 after telling friends she planned to go to Prairie Park near the NIU campus. Friends reported her missing after she failed to return, and a police search on Oct. 16 found burned human remains in the park.
