Couple Rushes To Have Baby During Blizzard
CHICAGO (WBBM) -- A Logan Square couple has a real story to tell about the birth of their daughter during the height of the blizzard.
As WBBM Newsradio 780's Regine Schlesinger reports, just as the power went out at Andrew and Julie Johnson's home, she went into labor. By 1 a.m., they knew it was time.

"Julie said, 'For sure, something's going on, and we have to go to the hospital," Andrew Johnson said.
So Johnson tried digging out his car, to no avail.
"My dad has a truck, and he couldn't get here, and my brother-in-law couldn't get here in his four-by-four," he said.
Finally, Johnson's brother, a Chicago firefighter, advised him to call 911. An ambulance arrived.
"We had to walk about a block in the snow, while having a contraction, to get to the ambulance," he said.
By the time they arrived at Swedish Covenant Hospital in the ambulance, Julie Johnson was just about to deliver. Their daughter, Veda, was born 35 minutes later, and Wednesday afternoon, everyone was doing all right.
