Couple Robbed At Gunpoint In South Loop

CHICAGO (CBS) - A couple is recovering Tuesday morning, after being robbed at gunpoint and beaten a day earlier in the South Loop.
Shortly after 3 a.m. Monday, the man and woman were robbed at gunpoint as they walked in the 800 block of South Plymouth Court, a community alert from Belmont Area detectives said.
A man got out of a waiting vehicle and asked the victims for directions, the alert said. He then pointed a handgun at them, demanded their valuables and beat one of the victims before fleeing in the car.
The offenders were described as white males, one about 22 and the other about 25. The younger-looking man was about 5-foot-9 and 170 pounds with a light complexion and strawberry blond hair. He was wearing a black, waist-length jacket.
The older man also had a light complexion with strawberry blond hair, police said. He was about 5-foot-6 and 155 pounds, and wore a multi-colored shirt and blue jeans.
They sped off in a red, two-door Chrysler PT Cruiser, police said.
No one was in custody as of Tuesday morning.
