Couple Accused Of Forcing Teen Girls Into Prostitution
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A couple from the Gresham neighborhood has been charged for the rape of two teenage girls and for forcing them to have sex with other men for money.
Matthew D. Casey, 23, and Kimberly Adams, 28, of the 1700 block of West 80th Street, are charged with aggravated criminal sexual assault and involuntary servitude of a minor, court records show.
Casey allegedly met a 15-year-old girl Jan. 3 at the Garfield Red Line station and choked her until she agreed to come home with him, police wrote in a report. Investigators said he had sex with her three times between Jan. 3 and Saturday, when Casey and Adams were arrested.
Casey forced himself on the 15-year-old girl twice, police said, and Adams held the girl's arms down one of those times. Casey told the girl she was going to work for him as a prostitute, according to police, and threatened to knock her head off her shoulders if she refused.
Police said the girl performed sex acts on four "dates" and gave all the money she received to Adams, who gave it to Casey. Officers also said she wasn't allowed to wear clothing at the couple's apartment and didn't disclose her age.
Meanwhile, police said Casey met a 17-year-old girl on 79th Street on Feb. 1 and invited her home where Casey and Adams forced the girl to have sex with him. Police said Casey forced himself on the girl four or five times and told her she would work as a prostitute, as well. He choked her when she initially refused, according to reports.
One of the girls called 911 Saturday after Casey allegedly threatened to beat her when she didn't come home from a "date" the night before, police said.
They said she told police what happened and that Casey and Adams were at a hotel. The other girl was with the couple when they were arrested.
Casey told police he had sex with the girls but never forced himself on them, and he denied making either girl have sex with men for money. Adams said one of the girls suggested the prostitution and said Casey had nothing to do with it. She said he only wanted to make sure they were safe, and she said the girls gave him $25 per "date" for acting as a bodyguard.
Cook County Judge Israel Desierto ordered Casey held in lieu of $200,000 bail and Adams in lieu of $100,000.
