Could Jim Thome End Up Back With White Sox?

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Could Jim Thome end up back with the White Sox? A published report seems to indicate that it's possible.

FoxSports.com reported Monday that just over a week after hitting his 600th home run, Thome was placed on the waivers by the Minnesota Twins. Two of his former teams, the Cleveland Indians and the Philadelphia Phillies, might want to bring him back, Fox Sports reported.

And while the White Sox have not said anything, the Chicago Tribune reports they might also be interested in bringing Tho9me back.

The newspaper points out that manager Ozzie Guillen has regretted letting Thome leave late in the 2009 season.

Thome has a no-trade clause, and can approve or veto any potential trade, the Tribune reported.

Thome, 40, played with Cleveland from 1991 to 2002 and Philadelphia from 2003 to 2005, before joining the White Sox in 2006 – the year after their World Series championship run. After leaving the Sox, spent one season with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2009, and joined the Twins the following year.
