Cops Warn About Robber Who Hit Red Line Subway Stop
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Police were seeking a man who has been ripping off cell phones and purses in and around a South Loop subway stop.
Police said they believe one man is responsible for at least three thefts in and around the Harrison Red Line stop. The first occurred June 24 at around 1 p.m., the second at 2 p.m. Saturday, and the third at about 6:15 p.m. Sunday.
The first and third thefts occurred around the station's Polk Street exit.
In each, police said, the man has used or threatened to use force to take victims' iPhones and purses.
The suspect is said to be in his late 20s, between 5'9" and 6'1" tall, weighs around 170 pounds and has a dark complexion.
Area Central and Central District police are investigating.
