ELGIN,Ill. (STMW) -- An Elgin man was arrested Wednesday morning after someone allegedly spotted him with an air pellet gun outside of a high school in the northwestern suburb.
Miguel J. Zavala, 18, was charged with one count of disorderly conduct involving alarming and disturbing behavior, and one count of possession of an air rifle, both city ordinance violations, Elgin police said in a release.
Officers arrested him after an anonymous caller reported seeing someone display a weapon about 11:30 a.m. near Gifford Street High School, at 46 S. Gifford St., the release said.
Police found a vehicle matching the description given in the call, and found Zavala driving, the release said. Officers also allegedly found an Airsoft pellet gun with him.
Zavala, of the 1000 block of Morton Avenue in Elgin, is not a student at the high school, police said. He will appear in Elgin Branch Court Nov. 20 at 9 a.m.
