Cop Removes Rooster From Blue Line Subway Tracks
CHICAGO (CBS) -- It's not unusual for the CTA to have to temporarily halt service on one of its trains because of an object or a person on the train tracks, but a live rooster? That's what happened early Monday morning in the Logan Square neighborhood.
Police said power on the CTA Blue Line was briefly shut down shortly after midnight Monday after a live rooster was spotted on the tracks at the Blue Line subway stop.
A police officer got on the tracks and carefully picked up the bird, which had suffered a broken wing, according to police. Someone at the station captured it on video and posted it on YouTube:
The bird was taken to Chicago Animal Care and Control. Veterinarians decided to have the rooster euthanized due to the severity of its injuries.
