Cooler Friday in Chicago with chance of spotty shower

CHICAGO (CBS) —  The National Weather Service reports dangerous lake conditions due to gusty winds.

The waves will be up to 10' later Friday day into Saturday. Onlookers may be swept into life-threatening waves and currents. These dangerous and potentially deadly conditions will last through Saturday night.

Everyone should stay out of the water, avoid immediate lakeshore areas, including piers, break walls, and portions of lakeshore trails that may be partially inundated by large waves, and finally, postpone boating until conditions improve on Sunday.

Isolated showers this evening with gusty north winds. Lows tonight will be in the 40s in many locations. Lake effect showers for NW Indiana on Saturday, with gusty winds and highs only in the 60s.

Prepare for a weekend that feels like fall across Chicago. Spotty showers are possible during the afternoon and evening. 

Waves are high at Lake Michigan beaches Friday through early Sunday morning. Clouds clear tonight with lows in the 40s. 

A high of 66 on Saturday with a warmer finish by Sunday in the 70s.
