Cook County Looks To Lease Office Space To Raise Cash
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle may be getting creative when it comes to plugging a budget hole.
The Sun-Times reports she is considering renting out space in the county administrative offices.
Under the plan, the top two floors of 69 West Washington would be available for lease.
The 34th floor is vacant and there are just five people in the offices on the 35th floor.
By one estimate it could save the county at least $1 million a year.
