Cook County Accepting Applications For Rehabbed Public Housing Development In Ford Heights Tuesday
(CBS) -- It has been seven years since Cook County opened up family housing to new applicants, so tomorrow a big line is expected at a newly rehabbed development in Ford Heights.
There are 26 units available at Vera Yates Family Housing in Ford Heights.
"We've probably gotten 100 calls or so, asking for information so I think we may have that many people there, maybe twice that many," said Richard Monocchio, executive director of the Housing Authority of Cook County.

Monoccihio says because of a lack of affordable housing, they expect people from all over the south suburbs.
"When an opportunity like this occurs, a lot of people take advantage of it because there's so much need out there," he said.
Monocchio says they'll be accepting applications and giving tours starting at 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
