Convenience Store Clerk Fires Shots At Armed Robbers In Albany Park
(CBS) – The search is on for two armed gunmen who held up a northwest side convenience store early Friday, but the clerk wasn't about to hand over the money without a fight.

It happened around 1:25 a.m. Police say two gunmen walked inside the 7-Eleven in the 2900 block of West Montrose in Chicago's Albany Park neighborhood.
Sources say the suspects were wearing masks and that one of them displayed and cocked a handgun while demanding money. The store's owner handed over about $150, and the two robbers attempted to drive away in a sedan.
The owner, however, was armed and followed the men to the getaway car, which was waiting in an alley.
Neighbor Charmaine Hobbs says she heard yelling and about five shots. She says she called 9-1-1.
Sources say the store owner fired at the car and shattered the back window as the two men drove off. It's not clear if the robbers shot at the store owner.
A short while later, a car matching the description was found abandoned near the robbery scene.
The two suspects got away and are still being hunted by police.
A source says one of the robbers may have left a piece of clothing on scene. Police have not reported any arrests.
Authorities won't say if the robbery victim will face charges for shooting in a public space.
