Contaminated Soil Removed From Hegewisch Field
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Little leaguers in Chicago's Hegewisch neighborhood can now feel confident their field is safe.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency removed nearly 1,200 tons of lead and arsenic contaminated soil.
CBS 2 Investigator Megan Hickey was there in July when the cleanup began. Parents said generations of families have played there since it was built on top of industrial waste back in 1964.
