Construction Set To Begin This Summer On 95-Story Vista Tower
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Ground will soon be broken on what will be Chicago's third tallest building, reports WBBM's Lisa Fielding.
Two empty lots at the east end of Wacker Drive will soon be home to a five-star hotel four hundred condos and 9,000 square feet of retail space.
"This will create, this building, 2,000 construction jobs starting this summer and also 500 permanent jobs working in the hotel and the associated building," said Mayor Rahm Emanuel.

Emanuel said Vista Tower, comprising of the Vista Residences and the Wanda Vista Hotel, will be the final link between Lakeshore East and the rest of the city.
"And add to the architectural landscape of Chicago and continue to make it a destination for its architectural signature as one of the most beautiful cities when it comes to architecture," the mayor said.
Ground will be broken on the skyscraper this summer. The hotel and tower will be completed by 2020.
The 95-story Vista Tower will stand at nearly, 1200 feet tall and was designed by architect Jeanne Gang.
