Condo Owner: Keep Bedbug-Sniffing Dog Out
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A North Side condo owner says the rules are the rules, and no pets allowed, means no pets – even if they can sniff out bedbugs.
As WBBM Newsradio 780's Bernie Tafoya reports, a concern has erupted over bedbugs at the Park Tower, a 55-story condo tower at 5415 N. Sheridan Rd. in the Edgewater neighborhood.
But now, one resident is taking issue with a dog being allowed to live in the building, even though one of its trained abilities and duties is to sniff out bedbugs.

Crain's Chicago Real Estate Daily reports condo owner Christopher Parker, who rents out his unit in the building, has sued over the decision bring in the dog.
The lawsuit says the condo board should have allowed owners to vote on whether to allow the dog, but did not, Crain's reported.
Parker is also suing another condo owner, David Nicosia, who owns the bedbug-sniffing black Labrador-border collie mix named Scout, Crain's reported. Parker says he does not want the dog in his unit, after a notice was posted that the dog must be allowed in when Parker's tenant wasn't home, the newspaper reported.
