Concrete Falls Down Onto Kennedy Expressway
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Parts of the Kennedy Expressway were closed overnight, after a chunk of concrete came crashing down onto the roadway.
The concrete fell onto the expressway near Cicero Avenue around 2 a.m. Some lights attached to the underside of the overpass were reportedly hanging down afterward, according to Illinois State Police.
Three teams of workers from the Illinois Department of Transportation worked to clear the area, and the expressway was soon reopened to traffic, state police said.
No injuries were reported.
