Police: Story Of Kidnapping Outside CTA Station Is A Hoax

(CBS) – Chicago police on Thursday night discredited a woman's claims that she had been abducted outside a Lawndale transit station and held against her will.
The purported victim told police she was hit in the head by a man around 8:45 a.m. Saturday outside the Pink Line Pulaski station. She said she had been dragged into an abandoned building and kept there for three days.
The alleged crime sent shockwaves through the North Lawndale neighborhood. Members of the Guardian Angels hit the streets Thursday to pass out flyers.
But Chicago police say they now think the story is not true. They tell CBS 2 the woman made the story up.
