Colvin To Start At First For Injured Pena
Tyler Colvin will make his first career start at first base when the Chicago Cubs take on the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday. Regular first baseman Carlos Pena suffered a sprained thumb in Monday's win.
"I can probably use [Pena] if I needed to late," manager Mike Quade told Paul Sullivan, of the Chicago Tribune. "But we'll see. We'll be careful with it and we'll get a chance to watch Mr. Colvin at first base."
It will also be Andrew Cashner's first career start as a major leaguer.
The Cubs' starting lineup for Tuesday's game is as follows:
1) Kosuke Fukudome - RF
2) Starlin Castro - SS
3) Marlon Byrd - CF
4) Aramis Ramirez - 3B
5) Colvin - 1B
6) Alfonso Soriano - LF
7) Darwin Barney - 2B
8) Koyie Hill - C
9) Cashner - P
