College Of DuPage Seeks To Quit Glen Ellyn
GLEN ELLYN, Ill. (CBS) -- The relationship between the College of DuPage and the village of Glen Ellyn may result in the school de-annexing from the town.
As WBBM Newsradio 780's Dave Marsett reports, the college has told its attorneys to start the process of separating from Glen Ellyn, the latest move in a battle that centers on the extent to which the school is subject to village regulations.
Meanwhile, the Village of Glen Ellyn is set to hold a special meeting Monday on the de-annexation plans, but college officials do not plan to attend, TribLocal reported.

Ken Florey, an attorney for the school, told the Chicago Tribune the process to de-annex the campus could take one to three years, pending a court challenge from the village.
In the last year, the village and college have been at odds over whether the community college needs village permission to make a variety of changes, most notably installing about $2 million in signs on campus.
