Cold Snap Sets In; Temps To Hover In The 30s
CHICAGO (CBS) -- The balmy 70-degree temperatures we saw on Sunday are a distant memory now, as a cold snap sets in and leaves temperatures hovering mostly in the 30s for the next couple of days.
CBS 2 Meteorologist Megan Glaros reports conditions will be sunny and cold Wednesday with a chilly breeze. As of 6:45 a.m., temperatures were in the 30s across the area, and were hovering at the freezing mark of 32 degrees in Aurora.
Most of the wind chills were in the 20s. In Aurora, the wind chill made it feel as if it were a frigid 22, in DeKalb 21.
Glaros says the temperatures, and the wind chill factors, will not rise very much throughout the course of the day.
The forecast high for Wednesday is 42 degrees, but on Thursday, the temperature likely won't even make it out of the 30s.
The overnight low is forecast at 20 degrees, and the high for Thursday is 39 with plenty of sunshine.
But the good news is, it's still November, not January. The temperatures will rise to a high of 49 on Friday, 53 on Saturday, and back up all the way to 60 degrees on Sunday – albeit with a chance of scattered showers.
