Cockburn, Plummer Dominant As Illini Beat Iowa
IOWA CITY, Iowa (CBS) -- Brad Underwood and the Illini visited Iowa Monday night, trying to improve to 2-0 in conference play.
Kofi Cockburn, the NCAA's second leading scorer, was long, strong, and down to get the friction on. He doubled down with 17 points and 18 boards.
The Illini were up three with less than two minutes left to play, when Alfonso Plummer hit the nail in the coffin. He had a game-high 21.
The Illini won in Iowa City for the first time since 2017. They beat the Hawkeyes 87-83.
