Coach Goes To Hospital After Being Hit With Baseball; Doctors Find Aneurysm
ELK GROVE VILLAGE, Ill. (CBS) -- Some people believe everything happens for a reason, and it wouldn't be that hard to convince one northwest suburban teacher.
As WBBM Newsradio's Bernie Tafoya reports, Steve Lesniak, 27, is a social studies teacher and freshman baseball coach at Elk Grove Village High School. The Daily Herald reports last month, Lesniak suffered a concussion when a player hit a line drive that smacked right into his head.
That night, the Daily Herald reports, Lesniak started feeling nauseated and went to the hospital.
There, behind one of his eyes, doctors found a giant aneurysm they believed was there long before the baseball hit him, the newspaper reported.
Lesniak underwent life-saving brain surgery, and is now expected to be back at work next week, the Daily Herald reported.
