Cloudy Skies, But Above Average Temperatures For Rest Of Day
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Cloud cover has replaced the intense sunshine of the morning hours, but temperatures will still be above average for the rest of the day Friday.
CBS 2 Meteorologist Megan Glaros says as of 11 a.m., it was 40 degrees at O'Hare International Airport, 41 degrees at Midway, and 43 at Gary, Ind., and Peru, Ill. Cloud cover with hints of blue sky prevailed, but there was no precipitation reaching the ground anywhere in the area.
As a cold front works its way through the area, temperatures will drop, and a few flurries could blow their way into the area overnight as the low hits 31. But no significant accumulation is expected.
Temperatures will be cooler on Saturday, but still above average at 40s. The high drops to 37 for Sunday, but the skies will be sunny.
From Monday onward, highs are projected in the 40s every day – only adding to the 42 days Chicago has already seen above 40 degrees since Dec. 1.
