Clerk Expects Big Crowds For Civil Unions On Wednesday
CHICAGO (WBBM) -- Civil union licenses will start being issued in Illinois starting on Wednesday and Cook County Clerk David Orr expects a big rush early in the morning.
Orr says he's expecting a fun, festive and crowded morning.

Just as with marriage licenses, there's a mandatory one-day waiting period before civil union ceremonies may take place.
Orr says his office will open early on Wednesday: 7:30 a.m.
He says, "We'll have a little party room for people to go after they get their certificate, and then of course, Eli's Cheesecake is going to be everywhere.
Civil unions give same sex and opposite sex couples the same rights as married couples when it comes to parenting, hospital rights, inheritances and more.
