City, Cubs Break Ground On New Park In Lakeview
(CBS) -- The Chicago Cubs, elected officials and the Chicago Park District broke ground for a new park in Lakeview Sunday.
WBBM's Kimberly Easton reports neighborhood kids with plastic hard hats and shovels in hand turned over the dirt for their new playground.
Alderman Tom Tunney says the collaboration of neighbors, community activists, government leaders and a $1 million donation from the Chicago Cubs made the new Margaret Donahue Park a reality.

"We would not be here without the generosity of the Chicago Cubs," said Tunney.
The new playground will include a water feature, open turf area and a replica Wrigley Field marquee at the entrance. It is scheduled for completion next year.
